Visitors can feel the Baroque atmosphere of the old Upper Town, visit several open-air markets and many shops, buy artisan produce and taste delicious local cuisine. Zagreb has green parks and walks in abundance. There are numerous resorts to visit in its beautiful surroundings. The city entered the third millennium with a metropolitan population of one million. Although its economy and traffic are developing at high rate, it has retained its peculiar easy-going atmosphere of a city everyone wants to live in. It is a city and a symbol of changes introduced by on-going projects.
